Follow the rhythm of the wild with authentic Maasai-led experiences
Track the resident Marsh pride of lions as they jostle for territory, spot a lone cheetah slinking across the savannah, or find stillness watching our returning bull elephants at dusk.
With abundant animal and bird species present year-round, our experienced local guides lead you through far-flung corners of the Greater Mara ecosystem by road, on foot and from the sky.
At Enkusero Mara, days unfold naturally. Adventures are charted to embrace the unpredictability of the wild and to fulfil your safari bucket list.
Game Drives
Game drives are led by our professional guides in open-sided Jeeps and are personalised to suit you. Half-day drives last up to four hours, depending on where the wild takes you. During migration season (July to September), game drives can be a full-day affair with plenty of stops along the way for coffee and lunch along the riverbanks.
Guided Walks
Follow Mereru and his team on an afternoon amble through the grassy plains of the Mara North Conservancy. Walking safaris explore the perimeter of our private property to identify animal footprints, plants and insects closely. Ideal for adults and children over 12, walking safaris are a fascinating way to explore slowly and discover a new perspective on the African wilderness.
Bush Dining
Our head chef, Robert, is known for his creativity and culinary adventurism. Each day, he uses fresh, seasonal ingredients and robust African flavours infused with Asian, Indian and Western influences to serve up vibrant dishes to delight guests while cleverly catering to all dietary restrictions.
Robert serves lunch and dinner under canvas at camp or in the wilderness at a surprise location surrounded by nature. Riverside picnics overlook wallowing hippos and a flutter of birds from the shade of a thorn tree. After sunset, our guides will lead you to an intimate dinner under the glow of lanterns in a quiet corner of the camp.
Safari Sundowner
Mesenka and Jennifer serve refreshing sundowner drinks and canapes against a backdrop of the Oloololo escarpment, where a bush bar set up overlooks the Mara Triangle and the Maasai Mara National Reserve, where grazing zebra and giraffe scatter under painted sunset skies. While sundowners are a time-honoured safari tradition, those opting for zero-alcohol will delight in our curated mocktail menu, like a Kenyan Dawa.
Hot Air Balloon Ride
Ascend over the wilderness to spot animals and marvel at the Great Mara ecosystem as sunrise swathes the plains in golden morning light. Hot air balloon rides take off nearby to camp with our trusted partner Govenors Balloon Safaris and can be added to your itinerary for an additional fee.
Community Visits
The Maasai Mara continues to exist as a pristine wilderness thanks to the relationship between the Maasai tribes and the wildlife that inhabit it. A people proud of their culture and history, the Maasai are famous for their brightly coloured Shuka cloths, tribal tools and intricate artworks. Join William and Alex on a journey to their nearby village, known as a Manyatta, for a glimpse of life coexisting with Africa’s wild animals. Here, you’ll visit the community-run market to support local artisans and partake in traditional rituals like jumping with the Morans – traditional Maasai warriors – and firemaking.
Campfire Nights
At dusk, sunset game drives and intimate bush dinners segue into fireside gatherings at camp thanks to Amos, whose evening ritual signals the end of the day and welcomes you back after exploring. Above stretching plains, night skies loom larger, and masses of stars glisten in the absence of lights. Around the fire in the stillness of the night your senses awaken to the sounds of the bush at night.
Riverside Picnics
Awaiting you on the banks of the Mara River is a freshly packed picnic. Here you can find rest in the shade with a gourmet breakfast or lunch while watching wallowing hippos, flutters of birds and passing antelope. It’s the perfect opportunity to stretch your legs, tick off new bird species and take in the stretching wilderness beyond.
