A Guide’s vision
Enkusero Mara had humble beginnings, born from the dream of a local Maasai guide who longed to start and run his own safari camp. After establishing a deep friendship with a visiting guest who shared his vision, the Enkusero Mara story began unfolding. Our camp started several years later with just one tent, built to exist in the wild. That was in 2021, amidst a global pandemic. Despite the world standing still, our wild thrived – animals roamed without the presence of people, and local Maasai presided over the plains. Just as it was centuries ago. As the world started eagerly exploring again, we welcomed the return of explorers and grew our camp to three tents – where it will remain.
We are deeply committed to preserving Kenya’s wild spaces. We embrace a simple, slow, and responsible safari ethos across our operations to support a true coexistence between man, wildlife, and land at no expense or compromise with each other.

We encourage you to spend time with our people, who by nature are reserved, but delight in sharing their unique knowledge and experience with you.
Our People
-
William Muli
OWNER AND SENIOR GUIDE
William is one of very few Maasai camp owners. He is also a Silver Certified Guide, a rank held by only a handful of guides in the Maasai Mara. He is calm, quietly curious, and known on the plains as a legendary tracker with an innate knowledge of the region and its animals, which he delights in sharing with you. As our senior safari guide, William will organize your daily safari expeditions across the Maasai Mara, instinctively anticipating animal behaviour to uncover extraordinary sightings.
-
Alex Kissemei
SENIOR TRACKER
A proud Maasai, Alex is known for his vibrant red Shuka, which resonates with his personable nature and courageous spirit. Like many of our Enkusero family, he grew up in a local Maasai village and warmly engages with guests to share his heritage and culture. As a tracker, Alex works alongside William, and together, they traverse our great wilderness to share its beauty with you. When he’s not spotting elusive big cats, Alex is setting up riverside picnics, traditional sundowners and bush dinners in peaceful pockets of the landscape.

Robert Sigei
HEAD CHEF
Our head chef is self-taught and leans into his intuitive nature to create wildly delicious and nourishing culinary feasts for all guests. Robert relies on a weekly market in Talek to source fresh ingredients grown and cultivated nearby. Using seasonal produce and endless creativity, our charismatic chef elevates traditional dishes and modern classics like two-bean moussaka and blueberry mascarpone cheesecake, which he serves up in our dining tent or out under the African sky.
-
Jennifer Leperes
HOST AND PASTRY CHEF
Having recently completed a French pastry-making course, Jennifer is responsible for the enticing aromas of soft, buttery pastries, wholesome breads and freshly baked crème brûlée that waft on the morning breeze through camp When she’s not baking, Jennifer carefully sets up for dinner service to delight hungry guests after a day in the wild.
-
Masenka Dickson
HOST AND BARTENDER
Our spirited Mesenka enthrals guests with bush banter and the spontaneous interrogation of your wildlife knowledge. Mesenka is infinitely proud of his Maasai heritage and will gladly share his perspective on the tribe’s rituals and traditions for a deeper understanding of the ancient Maasai culture. Our resident barista is up at dawn to brew coffee before your sunrise pursuit in the wild. And when you return, Mesenka will be waiting to shake (or stir) fresh cocktails with a smile.
-
Amos Ngabual
HOUSEKEEPING
We pride ourselves on our camp’s warm, inviting atmosphere. Amos and Normally carefully and thoughtfully tend to our tents, giving each a cosy, home-away-from-home feeling. They’ll be the ones preparing for your arrival and the ones who make sure there’s a blanket and a hot water bottle on chilly evenings.
